weathering the storm

Towards the end of Day 1 of our big road trip to Kansas, we stopped in St. George, Utah to visit the temple grounds there. We had driven past there many times, occasionally even stopping for a picnic or some shopping there in town, but we had never been to the actual temple. So, since this was the last time we’d be by here in quite some time, we stopped and had a look around.

As we were there, a storm started to develop, and I got some neat shots of the temple against the storm clouds.

the ravages of winter are but a memory fading

Taken back in April, when after enjoying a few days at near 80 degrees, we followed a steady decline into the 30s and 40s and sat there for a few days. The Boy Scouts I was working with went to a local park to practicing fishing in the little lake. I just brought the camera and enjoyed the scenery while trying not to let my fingers freeze and fall off.

Taken on my way home from work during one of the coldest springs on record. I didn’t really care, considering what the sky looked like. As far as I’m concerned, this is a good way to end off the week.

I’m a regular reader of Looky, Daddy!, a wonderful blog penned by The Dad, a stay-at-home dad of a first-grade daughter and two-year-old twins. The recent nor’easter that stormed the east coast did a number on their house. Well, more specifically, it flooded their basement.

While most people would be in panic mode, The Dad seems to be handling things quite well.

Actually, he’s a freakin’ superhero, as far as I’m concerned. I would have been committed by now, I’m sure.
